Tempus Edax Rerum (Alrealon Musique)

Anthony Washburn Massive and very well produced, a monster of an album. When I say monster I mean it. This record can be frightening, huge, quiet and aggressive all at the same time. The Ambient/Industrial sound J316 creates moves, which is good as most of that music stays in one place all the time. Woven into that is some excellent guitar work that I can't categorize, which to me is always a good thing. Sliding inside an empty oil tanker is what this feels and sounds like. Recommended. Favorite track: Part V.

Mr. Conner This will force its way into your consciousness. It plays like a story unfolding, and certainly one could write a story that goes step-by-step with it. It elicits a feeling of walking into a dark cave, the light fades, and there is no return. There is momentary relief at times, before the darkness consumes you once again. Sit back and enjoy the full experience of this one. Favorite track: Part II.

RECOMMENDED FOR: Ritualists, soundtrack aficionados, burnt out Black Metal enthusiasts, people who understand the true nature of Darkness with a capital ‘D.’"

"...An experimental masterclass taking us out of a bleak year into daring new gothic frontiers. At two hours running time, this is not for the faint of heart, persevere and you shall be rewarded. The Philadelphia industrial scene has never had it so good..."

"...Das ehemalige Mitglied von HEAT FROM A DEADSTAR Philippe Gerber etabliert auf „Tempus Edax Rerum“ fundamentalen Drone... Der Gesang von Rasplyn fügt einen ähnlichen Vibe hinzu wie in Ben Frosts phänomenalem Stück „You, me and the end of everything“. Musik ist ja kein Wettbewerb, jeder weiß das. Aber wenn es einer wäre, nähmen es JOHN 3:16 mit den Besten auf."

"...“Tempus Edax Rerum” attempts to guide the listener along an invisible path, silhouetted and cowled, to an unspecified and possibly unachievable destination. It’s a wonderful, addictive journey that once taken, will have you coming back for more, again and again and again."

"...dark ambientní projekt JOHN 3:16 nás na své nové desce zavede do nečekaně rafinovaných prostor na pomezí post rocku, industrialu nebo doom metalu."

"Our friends JOHN 3:16 come at us with less an audible listening experience than a sheer sonic pummeling. Take for example Part I, which sounds as though the ghost of Cop/Greed-era Swans was under more control, a more musically apt, and put through the gothic/post-punk music grinder. Part IV goes into something more ethereal, dark, something between a horror movie and spaghetti-western soundtrack, with vocals provided by Caroline O’Neill / Rasplyn. The band always impress, but I wasn’t quite ready for this one. A very pleasant surprise, indeed."

"Durch die fantastische Abmischung dreht sich der Klang tatsächlich um den Hörer, umhüllt Ihn, packt Ihn in seinen dunklen und irgendwie kalten und doch manischen und unwiderstehlichen Klang ein..."
